Author Vianney Rodriguez

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of masa harina
  • cups Knorr® Selects Granulated Tomato Bouillon with Chicken Flavor prepared as instructed on package warm
  • ½ tsp. of salt
  • To serve:
  • Refried beans
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Queso fresco crumbled
  • Cilantro chopped
  • Salsa

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the masa harina with salt. Carefully add warm Knorr Selects Tomato Bouillon, mix with hands until masa is smooth and doesn't stick to your hands.
  2. If the masa feels dry, add more Knorr Selects Tomato Bouillon - 1 teaspoon at a time.
  3. Once the masa is ready, cover with a damp towel until you are ready to form. A damp towel over the masa will prevent the masa from drying out.
  4. Divide the masa into equal portions and using two sheets of parchment paper, flatten and form into a huarache.
  5. Cook each huarache on a hot griddle, for two minutes on each side.
  6. Place the huaraches on a baking sheet and place in a warm oven until ready to serve.
  7. Served warm with refried beans, scrambled eggs, queso, cilantro and salsa.
