Cumin Lime Ground Beef Tostadas

  • For beef:
  • 3 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1- pound ground beef
  • ½ onion diced
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • For tostadas:
  • 12 tostada shells
  • refried beans warmed through
  • crumbled queso fresco
  • salsa
  • lime wedges


  1. For beef:
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onions, breaking up with spoon. Cook until beef is no longer pink and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease from pan, return to stove and reduce heat to low. Add garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Stir to combine and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. To assemble:
  4. With a spoon spread warm refried beans on tostada shells, top with ground beef and serve with salsa, queso fresco and additional lime wedges.
