Orange Pepper Braised Brisket

Ingredients

  • 4- pound brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons Orange Pepper Sazonador seasoning
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Juice from 3 oranges about 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Season both sides of brisket with Orange Pepper Sazaonador seasoning.
  3. Heat oil in Dutch Oven over medium-high heat.
  4. Add brisket, brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Carefully remove brisket place on baking sheet.
  6. Add onions, cook until light and translucent then add garlic and cook an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Add beef broth, orange juice, tomato paste, brown sugar, stir to combine.
  8. Return brisket to Dutch Oven, add bay leaf, cover and place in oven.
  9. Cook for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket pulls away with fork.
  10. Carefully remove from Dutch Oven, slice and serve warm.
