Old Fashioned Cocktail Ice Cream Float
Simplicity at its best the Old fashioned is strong, simple and includes plenty of whisky. Requiring only a few ingredients the old fashioned is a classic cocktail that never loses its appeal. I personally enjoy sipping them when I have plenty of time to slow down, unwind and really enjoy the cocktail. An old fashioned should never be rushed, so why is there a picture of an ice cream float pictured above?
Well it’s the holidays and since I have been on my best behavior all year long I have decided to treat myself by making homemade ice cream spiked with the flavors of an old fashioned. Whisky, lemon zest and bitters are combined with heavy cream and milk to create a no-cook ice cream that can be enjoyed by the scoop or taken one step further and topped with chilled seltzer, a dash of simple syrup and lastly garnished with a cherry. This boozy ice cream float is insane good, so whether if you have been naughty or nice, be good to yourself and sip away on this old fashioned ice cream float.
