Margarita Sangria

Celebrate your next girls’ night in with this delicious margarita sangria recipe!

I love spending downtime with the most important women in my life and one of my favorite ways to do this is by hosting a girls’ night in.  I put all of my favorite foods together, lay out my favorite settings and invite everyone over for a much needed girls’ night.

Two of my favorite go-to drink recipes for entertaining are margaritas and sangrias.  For tonight’s get-together, I decided to make a cocktail that combines them both.  The margarita sangria cocktail is the perfect blend of wine, tequila and citrus.  The flavors are just delightful.

Llano Estacado Premium Winery in Texas

For my margarita sangria cocktail, I chose a delicious Pinot Grigio from a local Texas winery.  The Llano Estacado Winery is the largest premium winery in Texas and is based in Lubbuck, Texas.  Its Pinot Grigio is a light, crisp wine with aromatic notes of lemon, green apple and blossom.

The clean, fresh taste pairs perfectly with citrus flavors and would make a great addition to any meat or seafood marinade.  Cooking with wine is another great way to add unique, vibrant flavors to any dish.  I plan to try it out this summer for grilling season!

If you’re interested in learning more about Llano Estacado wines, you can find them statewide at most local retailers or online at www.llanowine.com.  The winery has approximately 50 varieties of wine, including the award-winning 2013 Texas High Plains Montepulciano.  They also host a variety of events in their tasting room and event center, including weddings, corporate parties and intimate gatherings.

Margarita Sangria for Girls’ Night In

Our party featured distinct Tex-Mex flavors and paired well with the bright, delicious flavor of tonight’s wine selection.

I shook up this wonderful margarita sangria cocktail at my girls’ night in party with several friends and family.  It was served alongside a delicious fried hominy dish with cilantro pesto, a beautiful mango corn salad and a vibrant grapefruit salsa.  So amazing!

Are you ready to try this cocktail at your next girls’ night?  Grab a bottle of Pinot Grigio and enjoy the amazing, sweet, citrus flavor of this fresh margarita sangria cocktail! (recipe below)
