My Texas watermelon martini makes Texas watermelons the star of this cocktail. Fresh watermelon juice, vodka and homemade lime syrup enhance the watermelon flavor.
Nothing hits the spot after a long day in the Texas heat than a watermelon martini.
Freshly shaken martinis taste really good because they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. When you combine these ingredients carefully, the outcome is a smooth and delicious cocktail.
Garnished with thinly slice of lime, my Texas watermelon martini is beautiful. Great for Girlsโ night, summer BBQ, date night and movie night.
I hope you give this beauty a try and support our local Texas farmers by picking up a Texas watermelon.

HOW TO MAKE A TEXAS WATERMELON MARTINI
To make this cocktail first we make a homemade lime syrup. Lime and watermelon are a match made in heaven, so I naturally wanted to pair them for this cocktail.
A simple syrup made from fresh lime juice, sugar, and water. We simmer over low heat to dissolve sugar and infuse the syrup with the fresh lime juice.
The lime syrup can be made two days in advance. Store covered in fridge and use within a week. I like to pour my syrup into a canning jar, pop lid on and slide into my fridge.
In a small saucepan place the sugar, water, and lime juice.
Simmer over low heat until sugar dissolves, remove from heat.
Allow lime syrup to cool completely.
Run a lime wedge around glass.
Spread sugar on glass, dip glass to rim.
To a cocktail filled with ice add vodka, watermelon juice and lime syrup.
Shake until well chilled, strain into rimmed glass, Garnish with lime slice.
