I’m serving hearty breakfast huaraches for a festive Easter brunch. Topped with refried beans, scrambled eggs, queso fresco and salsa huaraches are the ultimate brunch treat. Disclosure: Post sponsored by Mirum but all opinions are my own.
Huaraches are flattened ovals of masa shaped to resemble the sole of a Huarache (Mexican sandal). Like sopes, huaraches can be made/served small as an appetizer of made large enough to resemble a pizza. Cooked on a comal they can be topped with anything your heart desires.
Shredded chicken, picadillo, beans, cheese or sautéed mushroom and salsa.
I’m excited to partner with Knorr® to share with you how easy it is to make huaraches at home. You can make my huaraches with chicken broth, but today I wanted to add a boost of flavor by using Knorr® Selects Granulated Tomato Bouillon with Chicken Flavor.
I begin my huaraches by combining masa harina, and salt in a large bowl. Carefully add warm prepared Knorr Selects Tomato Bouillon (follow directions on package), mix with hands until masa is smooth and doesn’t stick to your hands.
If the masa feels dry, add more prepared Knorr Selects Tomato Bouillon 1 teaspoon at a time.
Once the masa is ready, cover with a damp towel until you are ready to form. A damp towel over the masa will prevent the masa from drying out.
Divide the masa into equal portions and using two sheets of parchment paper to flatten and form into a huarache.
Cook each huarache on a hot griddle, for two minutes on each side. Place the huaraches on a baking sheet and place in a warm oven until ready to serve.
Served warm with refried beans, scrambled eggs, queso, cilantro and plenty of salsa my huaraches are sure to be a hit at your Easter brunch table.
With Knorr Selects Bouillon from Walmart, you can make a tasty brunch main dish that will fill your family’s craving for big, bold flavor and make your Easter traditions even more enjoyable.
Knorr Selects Bouillon contains no artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, no added MSG and made with natural chicken stock, you can feel good about including it in your recipe.
Visit your local Walmart to find Knorr Selects Bouillon in the Hispanic Foods aisle or on Online Grocery Pickup.
