A manzanilla canela latte is quickly becoming my nightly ritual to help this Seรฑora soothe herself to sleep. Made with dried manzanilla, canela, honey and frothed milk this cozy latte is delicious.

Manzanilla Canela Latte recipe

Our coldest months in Tejas occur in January and February. I find myself craving something extra warm to sip on while I settled in to watch TV. This manzanilla canela latte is mix of everything my Abuelita made for me growing up – warm manzanilla scented with canela and sweetened with honey. The addition of frothed milk makes this latte a welcome sip after a long day.

There is many benefits in sipping Tรฉ de Manzanilla (Chamomile tea), derived from the dried flowers of the Matricaria chamomilla plant, manzanilla has been used as a natural remedy for centuries.

Manzanilla can aide in enhancing sleep. Itโ€™s a gentle, non-habit forming option for those looking for a natural remedy sleep aid. Manzanilla is said to offers relief with menstrual cramps, help to regulate mood swings and irritability often associate with PMS.

Manzanilla may contribute to cardiovascular well-being. The antioxidants present in manzanilla have been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease. Sipping Tรฉ de Manzanilla after meals helps to soothe digestion and provide relief from minor stomach discomforts. Tรฉ de Manzanilla helps to soothe a sore throat and other mild respiratory ailments.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE MANZANILLA CANELA LATTE

water

dried Manzanilla or 2 Manzanilla tea bags โ€“ for this recipe I used dried manzanilla, but you can use manzanilla (chamomile) tea bags. Find dried manzanilla online or at your Mexican grocery store.

whole milk, coconut milk, or milk of your choice

canela, cinnamon stick

honey or sweetener of choice

Additional dried manzanilla for serving

HOW TO MAKE MANZANILLA CANELA LATTE

You can make this latte two ways, on the stove-top in a saucepan or with a kettle.

I have made it both ways with the same results โ€“ if using tea bags, simply remove the bags. The dried version will need to be strained, an easy, peasy step.

Serve warm garnished with additional dried manzanilla, optional.

TEA KETTLE VERSION:

Heat water via tea kettle.
