Y’all nothing beats an evening with great friends, endless chisme and a wonderful cocktail. My blackberry margarita sangria cazuela cocktial is beautifully easy to whip up, can serve a crowd and it is bursting with blackberry flavor.

Made with fresh blackberries, white wine, tequila and finished off with lemon-lime soda blackberry margarita sangria is light, refreshing and goes down smooth.

The beauty of serving cocktails in a Cazuela is guests can serve themselves. What is a cazuela? Read more about one of my favorite kitchen pieces here.

The base of this cocktail begins with making a blackberry syrup. Simply toss fresh blackberries, water and sugar and cook until the blackberries break down, strain and you are set. That’s it guys, the remining steps of this cocktail is simply pouring all elements in – winning.

TIPS ON MAKING BLACKBERRY MARGARITA SANGRIA CAZUELA COCKTAIL

To make the base of this cocktail I used fresh blackberries, but you can use frozen. Thaw before cooking.

Shake up this cocktail with a budget friendly white wine, save that great white wine bottle for date night.

For the tequila, use what you like to sip. I prefer tequila that state  100% de agave, which means the tequila is distilled only from Mexican blue agave plants. Cheap tequilas are often muddled down with alcohol made from corn or sugar cane, resulting in a tequila that burns, taste flat and lacks flavor.

Nothing beats fresh lemon juice in cocktails, fresh is always best.

Add your favorite lemon-lime soda or sparkling water to this cocktail. A lemon or coconut flavored sparkling water would work great.
