A stunning Lavender Martini made with a base of homemade lavender syrup, fresh lemon juice, and vodka. The lavender syrup can be used to make cocktails or quickly whip up mocktails, coolers or lemonade with this homemade lavender syrup.

Lavender Martini

Three years ago we made our first trip to Blanco, Texas to attend the Lavender Festival. As far as the eye can see were row upon row of vibrant lavender in every shade, hue of purple. I have been hooked on lavender every since and am always finding new ways to incorporate this beautiful herb into my recipes. So far I have made lavender brownies, stuffed strawberries and a few cocktails.

I was bummed we missed the festival this year due to heavy rain, but was thrilled to receive a tub of dried lavender from my friend in San Antonio.

Today I’m sharing with you one of my favorite martini recipes that features lavender, which pairs beautifully with vodka. This cocktail begins with a base of homemade lavender syrup, which has become a necessity during the hot Texas summers. I can quickly whip up cocktails, mocktails, coolers or lemonade with this homemade lavender syrup.  My lavender martini is a vision of purple and is guaranteed to become your favorite new cocktail.

¡Salud!

You could experiment but try the plain one first! (1 ounce)

Not much of a cocktail with only 1oz. of Vodka and .5 oz. lemon juice, so I doubled it. Very yummy!

I made this with dried lavender buds but my syrup was not purple. How do you get the color?

Do you use the fresh lavender flower, or do you need to dry it out first? I love lavender flavor & excited to finally make my own syrup!

      Hi Judi,

I used 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds – that I purchased at the Lavender festival.

I buy my lavender leaves on Amazon. I put leaves in my coffee when brewing and also tea. Lemonade is so good too. Can’t get enough lavender. Funny at one point I couldn’t stand the scent. Now I would swim it if I could. Lol
