Ruby Red Grapefruit Salsa

Salsa is so easy to make at home. Once you ditch the jarred stuff and taste how good fresh salsa can taste, you will never go back to the jarred salsa again.

I love whipping a fresh bowl of salsa when entertaining. Salsa is perfect for entertaining, served with a batch of tortilla chips, a few frosty margaritas y listo! You are set to entertain.

Ruby Red Salsa Fresca

This salsa is a salsa fresca, no cooking, roasting of the chiles are needed. A few fresh ingredients, a few passes with a knife and then simply spoon into a festive bowl.

What I adore about this salsa fresca is that it is brimming with juicy ruby red grapefruits. A true South Texas treasure ruby red grapefruits flourish in the South Texas soil, which give them their vibrant ruby colored flesh. Ruby reds are wonderful in anything from marinades, cocktails, sauces, but in fresh salsas they really shine.

Girls’ Night Appetizer

They brighten the salsa with a tangy punch, elevate the jalapeno flavor and they add a beautiful hue of color to any dish.  I recently hosted a girls’ night in where I served this grapefruit salsa.

One of the ladies had never tried grapefruit in a salsa, so I was pleased when she said she loved it. This grapefruit salsa made of fresh grapefruit segments, diced tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeno and red onion is ready in minutes and is a wonderful entertaining appetizer.
