Tequila infused with marigolds is at the base of this floral margarita. I made the marigold infused tequila in honor of my abuelito for Dia de Los Muertos. With a splash of fresh citrus juice, served chilled this margarita is a flowery delight.
Many of my margaritas are made by the pitcher or served on the rocks (over ice), but this margarita is best served with no ice. Ice dilutes the floral flavor, which really makes this margarita. Shake well in a cocktail shaker and strain in a chilled glass, rimmed with salt.
- 3 ounces marigold infused tequila
- 2 ounces fresh orange juice
- 1 ounce cointreau
- 1 ounce lime juice
- Run a lime wedge around the edge of glass, dip into a shallow dish with coarse salt to coat rim and place in freezer to chill. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add marigold infused tequila, orange juice, cointreau and lime juice. Shake well, strain and pour into chilled glass.
