HOW TO MAKE APPLE DULCE DE LECHE BREAD
Use your favorite apple for this recipe. Peel and dice apple before adding to batter.
Liberally spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray. The non-stick spray really helps to prevent the dulce de leche from sticking to edges of loaf pan.
Butter should be softened, at room temperature before adding to your mixer. This helps to create a light and fluffy batter.
Reduce mixer speed, and beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping down sides.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to mixer alternating with the milk, starting, and ending with flour mixture.
Turn off mixer and gently fold in 1 1/2 cups of the apple. Add half of the batter into loaf pan.
You can slightly warm dulce de leche in microwave before spooning over batter. Swirl your knife through batter to create marbled effect and top with remaining batter. Spoon remaining dulce de leche over top, swirl with knife.
In bowl, mix remaining apples, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread evenly over batter, pressing apples in gently. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, allow to cool for 10 minutes; remove loaf from pan and let cool completely on rack. Run a butter knife around loaf pan to loosen the bread before removing from pan.
