Dia de Los Muertos with Wilton
I hosted houseful of kiddos for a day of sharing or introducing “what exactly is Dia de Los Muertos.” I spent the day sharing this tradition with them, discussing how to build an altar, important symbols that are associated with dia de los muertos and answering any questions or concerns. Wilton was more than happy to host this event especially when they knew I would be sharing my heritage with children. I adore Wilton and over the years have used many of their products to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos.
We made paper marigolds:
We made papel picado:
And decorated sugar skulls for them to take home:
I made the cakes using Wilton’s Decorator Chocie Yellow cake mix. I frosted them the evening before, placed them in the fridge ready for them to decorate. A tray of Wilton color mists, icings and gels and shimmer dust they were ready to be deocrated.
The kids had so much fun, Thanks Wilton!
