My cranberry punch is perfect for thanksgiving, pero guys served in a DIY Pumpkin punch bowl takes this punch to while new level of holiday fun!

Iโ€™ve always wanted to carve a large pumpkin to use as a punch bowl, pero tu sabes with the Texas heat many of my pumpkin never made it past Halloween.

This year our weather has been amazing, so I went for it!

Hereโ€™s how easy it is to make a DIY pumpkin punch bowl at home.

HOW TO MAKE A DIY PUMPKIN PUNCH BOWL

First off select a pumpkin according to the amount of people attending Thanksgiving. We usually have a large crowd, so I went for the largest pumpkin I could find.

Using a sharp knife carefully slice the pumpkin around the top. You can slice in a zigzag pattern or simply slice as we did.

With a serving spoon scoop out the insides of the pumpkin and spoon out pumpkin flesh to make enough room for punch.

Save the pumpkin seeds for roasting โ€“ hereโ€™s a great recipe.

Be careful not to puncture all the way through to the interior of the pumpkin โ€” you don’t want liquid leaking out. Or if you feel nervous simply place the pumpkin on serving tray

Now that we have our pumpkin ready letโ€™s talk cranberry punch.

Our base begins with a homemade cranberry syrup made from fresh cranberries, piloncillo, cinnamon, and orange juice for a perfect tart-sweet touch.

The beauty of this cranberry punch is you can add any spirit you enjoy โ€“ tequila, vodka, or rum work in this punch. Or if you prefer a non-alcoholic version, simply replace the spirit with ginger ale or sprite.

Once you are ready to serve fill carved pumpkin with ice, then begin adding the remaining ingredients.

Give it a quick stir and you are ready to ladle into cups.
