Tequila Lime Wings
One of my favorite game-day recipes is also the simplest. These sticky flavorful, baked chicken wings with a smoky punch from tequila are not screaming hot making them ultimate crowd pleasing football game appetizer.
These wings don’t compromise flavor or texture, but baked to cut back on fat. No frying, no mess these baked tequila wings are juicy, so skip the frying and crank on the oven for a delicious game-day recipe.
With the help of Old El Pasoโs prepared taco seasoning mix these wings are a breeze to throw together and use ingredients that can be easily found in your grocery store.
- 3/4 cup tequila
- 3/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1oz package of Old El Paso mild taco seasoning
- 2 pounds chicken wings
-
Place chicken wings in a resalable plastic bag set in a shallow baking dish. In a bowl whisk together tequila, fresh lime juice, honey, salt, pepper and taco seasoning. Pour half the marinade over chicken wings, seal bag; turn a few times to coat wings and marinate for 30 minutes. Reserve remaining marinade for basting wings.
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place wings on baking sheet, discard marinade and bake 35 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink, basting with reserved marinade every 10 minutes. Serve warm with lime wedges and a cold beer.
