Now as an adult, there is so many sleep aids to help me fall asleep after a hectic day. I find they leave me feeling groggy, so I always find myself turning to a warm cup of milk, especially during the Holidays.
With the rush of the holidays I find myself running hectic juggling various commitments, holiday shopping, decorating, baking cookies and hosting.
On days that I feel drained and need a great night of sleep I make myself a cup of moon milk.
Moon Milk is comfort in a cup, made of milk, spices, sweetened with a touch of honey, sprinkled with turmeric and served warm it hits the spot.
Today I want to share with you a moon milk that evokes the holidays and my childhood made with milk. Make it with real milk, as it provides taste and nutrition the whole family enjoys. It is a season of gathering around the table, giving and sharing. Besides being tasty and nutritious, milk also evokes a feeling of connection and tradition.
The base of my moon milk is hibiscus tea made from the dried petals of hibiscus flowers. I also added cherry juice to give it a punch of pinkness that my girls love. I blend with milk and a touch of honey for sweetness. Milk gives the moon milk a creamy texture, plus it is packed with nutrients.
Milk is a delicious, easy and affordable way to give your family protein plus other nutrients they need.
