This Hibiscus Cherry Moon Milk is spiced with hibiscus, tart cherry juice, honey, and turmeric. A comforting moon milk is the perfect go-to-sleep remedy during the Holiday rush. I’m excited to partner with The National Hispanic Milk Life to bring you this Holiday recipe.

When I was little and had trouble sleeping my mami would make me drink a cup of warm milk to help me sleep. One sip and I was wrapped in comfort. The warmth seemed to slowly spread its way through my whole body, creating a cozy and dreamy feeling.

Now as an adult, there is so many sleep aids to help me fall asleep after a hectic day. I find they leave me feeling groggy, so I always find myself turning to a warm cup of milk, especially during the Holidays.

With the rush of the holidays I find myself running hectic juggling various commitments, holiday shopping, decorating, baking cookies and hosting.

On days that I feel drained and need a great night of sleep I make myself a cup of moon milk.

Moon Milk is comfort in a cup, made of milk, spices, sweetened with a touch of honey, sprinkled with turmeric and served warm it hits the spot.

Today I want to share with you a moon milk that evokes the holidays and my childhood made with milk. Make it with real milk, as it provides taste and nutrition the whole family enjoys. It is a season of gathering around the table, giving and sharing. Besides being tasty and nutritious, milk also evokes a feeling of connection and tradition.

The base of my moon milk is hibiscus tea made from the dried petals of hibiscus flowers. I also added cherry juice to give it a punch of pinkness that my girls love. I blend with milk and a touch of honey for sweetness. Milk gives the moon milk a creamy texture, plus it is packed with nutrients.

Milk is a delicious, easy and affordable way to give your family protein plus other nutrients they need. An 8-ounce glass of milk has 8 grams of high-quality, natural protein, plus other essential nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. Milk is a simple way to help give kids nutrients they need to be their best, and they already love it. Giving them milk is a choice you can feel good about.

Blended until smooth, served warm in festive mugs my hibiscus moon milk is the ultimate cup of comfort after a long day of holiday activities. I hope you give it a try.

This Holiday season don’t forget the real milk to make mealtime better and every dish richer and more delicious, not to mention nutritious. Milk is in our soups, sauces, winter drinks and of course, desserts. It is a season of gathering around the table for giving and sharing time with family and friends who become family. An ally in taste and nutrition, whether you serve it in a glass or include it in your favorite recipe, you can count on its 9 essential nutrients like protein, calcium, vitamin D and potassium.

Celebrate this season with delicious recipes that have been passed on from generation to generation.
