The creamiest, dreamiest cocktail made with Conchas is the ultimate Valentine’s Day cocktail. Concha Martini made with conchas, whipped vodka, amaretto, white chocolate liqueur and half and half.
I love this cocktail because the combination of ingredients makes it a concha in drink form. While the flavors of my concha martini alone are sweet and delicious, the concha garnish on the rim adds color, fun, and memorable detail.
The base of my concha martini begins with infusing half and half with a concha. A diced concha is added to half and half, the concha breaks down to infuse the half and half with the flavor of the concha.
Next, we add whipped vodka, amaretto, white chocolate liqueur along with the concha infused half and halt to create the most luscious Concha Martini.
I’m highlighting my childhood love for Conchas with a new series called TODAS LAS CONCHAS. 14 days of new concha recipes leading up to the sweetest day Valentine’s Day, featuring our beloved concha.
Yesterday I share concha trifles, today I am excitedly thrilled to share with you how easy it is to make concha martinis at home.
The sweet smell of conchas reminds me of my childhood. Nothing made me happier than walking to the panaderia with my Abuelito to buy pan dulce – the pink ones were my sister’s favorite; I preferred a chocolate concha. They were soft, fluffy, and sweet just like my Abuelito.
I grew up with conchas – and I am now raising my daughters on conchas – todo el amor
No other pan dulce represents our heritage culture, love of Mexico and reminds us of home and family like the concha.
The concha is SO much more than just a delicious pastry, it is part of our childhood, our memories of time with the family and the sweetest gift we share with our children.
What I also love is that talented bakers & bakeries are continuing to bake, share and experiment with our beloved concha gifting us with amazing new flavors, new concha designs and desserts featuring the concha – todo el talento
Today I want to share a fun concha martini that you can whip up in under ten minutes just in time for Valentine’s Day.
TIPS ON MAKING A CONCHA MARTINI
- For this recipe I used a chocolate concha, feel free to use any concha flavor you enjoy. The shade of the martini will be different than the photo feature above.
- To infuse the half and half, dice the concha into bite-sized piece, you want the concha to soak, dissolve into the half and half. Stain well when ready to use.
- You can use a day-old concha to infuse the half and half, allow for more steeping time if the concha has hardened.
- Save any leftover crumbs when dicing concha to sprinkle on the concha martini, so pretty!
- This recipe makes two martinis. The ingredient lists call for the total for two martinis, the directions state the amounts for one martini to not overfill cocktail shaker.
- Whipped vodka is vodka flavored with a taste inspired by whipped topping, no actual whipped cream or whipping goes into the production. You can use plain vodka. If using another flavored vodka, it will change the taste of the martini.
