Cilantro-Jalapeño Limeade

 

Cilantro-Jalapeño Limeade

They say when life gives your lemons…make lemonade. 

Well life is currently blessing me with basket after basket of sweet limes, so I’m sprucing up my lemonade with limes and adding a touch of heat to this bright, green cooler.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup cilantro sprigs
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 sliced lime
  • 1 thinly sliced jalapeño pepper
  • Ice
Instructions
  1. Start with fresh lime juice in a pitcher.
  2. Combine sugar and cilantro sprigs in a mortar; grind leaves with pestle.
  3. Add the cilantro mixture and water to pitcher with lime juice, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  4. Add sliced lime and jalapeño pepper. Let stand 30 minutes before serving over ice.
