A stunning Hibiscus Margarita made with agua de jamaica, tequila and Truvia is the ultimate Valentine’s Day cocktail. I’m excited to partner with Truvia to bring you this delicious new cocktail. Thank you for supporting the brands I collaborate with.
When many celebrate the day of love by popping a bottle of bubbly, I’d rather sip on margaritas, because after all, nothing screams romance quite like a stunning margarita. Salud to love!
Whether you plan to spend Valentines Day with that special someone, girlfriends or snuggled up in your PJ’s binge-watching your favorite show, these margaritas will surely make you feel loved.
To help you celebrate I’m sharing with you a truly stunning margarita made with two of Mexico’s most beloved treasures – tequila and flor de Jamaica (hibiscus).
For those that have followed along in my margarita obsessed journey know very well that I never use mixes in any of my margaritas. I prefer to use fresh ingredients that compliment the tequila.
When Truvia reached out to me to share a Valentine’s Day cocktail, I knew I wanted to highlight their Truvia Nectar, since it is already an essential ingredient in my home bar.
I use it to lightly sweeten my spiked café de olla cocktails I make for our weekly brunches. It’s my mami’s favorite brunch cocktail, so I always have Truvia Nectar on hand.
Truvia Nectar is the reduced-calorie way to love honey. Blended with stevia leaf extract, sugar & honey, Truvia Nectar has 50% fewer calories per serving than full-calorie honey and adds a touch of sweetness to your coffee, tea, and favorite recipes. Because Truvia Nectar is twice as sweet as honey, you only need to use half as much.
For this margarita, our base begins with agua de Jamaica made with dried hibiscus. I sweetened the agua with Truvia Nectar, placed it in the fridge to chill until I was ready to shake.
To a cocktail shaker filled with ice add your agua de Jamaica, tequila, and fresh lime juice. Shake until well chilled and serve over ice in a glass rimmed with ice. This margarita is not only beautiful, but it also tastes heavenly.
A ruby red margarita the color of love made with Truvia Nectar, agua de Jamaica, and tequila. No mystery ingredients, no fillers – this hibiscus margarita is far too easy and delicious to justify buying a bottled margarita mix.
I hope wherever you all are tonight you toast this day of love by raising a toast with my hibiscus margaritas with someone you love (even if that someone is yourself!)
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Saud!
