Guys did you know June 30th is National Mai Tai day?  I can’t think of a better way to toast the beginning of summer than with an icy cold mai tai.   Did you know Mai Tai translates to “out of this world?” Legend has it that Victor Bergeron concocted the cocktail and tested it on a few friends visiting from Tahiti when one exclaimed “Mai-Tai-Roa Aé”, which translates to “Out of this world!”  And I agree.

This classic tiki cocktail is the ultimate summer sipper. Today I’m sharing my personal favorite variation made with passion fruit juice plus two rums Zacapa Rum and Myer’s dark rum. A splash of fresh lime juice along with gran mariner and we’re all set to lounge by the pool. Salud!
