Sugared Cranberries

Holy cranberry goodness I am in love with sugared cranberries. Have you tried them? I’m hosting a Holiday Cocktail class this week and the theme is cranberries. I am super excited as I love sharing my passion for shaking up cocktails.

I have been making these gorgeous little jewels for years now and knew they would make a great garnish for our cocktails, plus I like to add a little sparkle to my holiday cocktails. Not only are these sugared cranberries super, super easy to make they are delicious. Tart, sweet, juicy and crunchy – sugared cranberries are amazing as a garnish over cakes, tarts or on a cheese platter.

Author: Vianney Rodriguez
Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 12oz bag fresh cranberries
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan over low heat combine 1 cup sugar and water, stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to a simmer, add cranberries and stir to coat cranberries. Simmer for 3 minutes, you do not want cranberries to pop. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Once cranberries have cooled, strain and roll to coat in remaining 1 cup sugar. Use sugared cranberries to garnish cocktails, cake, pudding or cheesecake. Store in fridge for up to a week.
