Watermelon Cucumber Margarita Cazuela Cocktail

Y’all I am soaking in every minute of watermelon season here in Texas. August is my favorite month to enjoy watermelons, they are at their peak and the sweetest of the season. My watermelon cucumber margarita Cazuela cocktail is the best way to kick of the weekend.

Watermelon cucumber margarita Cazuela cocktail is super easy to make, all you need is a blender, no cocktail shaker required and served in a Cazuela, which makes for serving a crowd an ease.

There is so many reasons I love this cocktail – it’s fresh,  vibrant in color, watermelon and cucumber pair perfectly together and baby this cocktail goes down SOOO smooth.

Served in a Cazuela guests are free to serve themselves. Placed on table, along with tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole for a fun evening of sipping and snacking.

If you need help selecting a ripe watermelon – find some great tips here.

TIPS ON MAKING WATERMELON CUCUMBER MARGARITA CAZUELA COCKTAIL

A seedless watermelon makes blending easier if you can find one, pero juice is strained before mixing so you can use a seeded melon.

Try swapping out a red watermelon for a yellow watermelon, fun!

Peeling the cucumber makes blending easier.

Add water to blender ¼ cup at a time, or more if needed to help with blending.

For the tequila, use what you like to sip. I prefer tequila that states  100% de agave on the bottle, which means the tequila is distilled only from Mexican blue agave plants. Cheaper tequilas are often muddled down with alcohol made from corn or sugar cane, resulting in a tequila that burns, taste flat and lacks flavor.

Nothing beats fresh lime juice in cocktails, fresh is always best.

I like to rim my glasses beforehand and place in the freezer for an extra chilly cocktail.

If you prefer to skip the cucumber in this cocktail, replace with more watermelon or swap out for honeydew or cantaloupe, adding 5 cups of juice melon.
