Slow Cooker Black Beans are seasoned with cumin and garlic and simmer away for hours until tender and delicious in my slow cooker. A fuss-free meal option that allows me to move on with my day, without having to watch the pot on the stove.

 Easy Slow Cooker Black Beans

Slow cooker black beans are the ultimate weekend comfort food. They’re warm, inviting, and perfect for a lazy weekend at home spent lounging around the house or binge watching your favorite show.

Cooking beans on the stove requires a lot of time spent in the kitchen watching over them as they cook, but these black beans can easily be made in the slow cooker, giving you more time to spend with your familia.

Stewed with diced tomatoes and onion, these homemade black beans are amazing as a comforting soup, topped with crumbled queso fresco and fresh cilantro.  If you prefer something heartier, top them with shredded chicken or serve them alongside a sizzling plate of fajitas and Mexican rice for a Texas-sized feast.

Slow Cooker Black Beans with a Tex-Mex Flair

Stewed beans are a staple in Tex-Mex cuisine, and are the base to many of our family’s favorite comfort foods.  Growing up, I always remember our kitchen being filled with the comforting aroma of freshly stewed beans.  Mami always made the best beans and I take all my inspiration from her.

These black beans are seasoned with cumin and garlic and simmer away for hours until tender and delicious.  To keep things simple, I use my slow cooker to stew the beans, so I can move on with my day, without having to watch the pot on the stove.

These beans aren’t just for weekends.  A warm bowl of stewed black beans is the perfect no-fuss dish for a weeknight dinner the whole family will enjoy.  I like to serve mine topped with freshly crumbled Mexican cheese and cilantro for a light and delicious meal.

Don’t forget to serve these easy homemade black beans with a toasted bolillo roll or warm flour tortillas to dip in the flavorful broth.  Enjoy!
