Hello my food lovers, did you have a fab time Tricking and Treating? Oh, we had a blast as my girlie’s cleaned up our streets as Batgirl and Robin. So many houses to visit, so little time. Well now that Halloween has left with a bang shall we discuss Thanksgiving treat ideas?

Our family is based is Aransas Pass, Texas where our home is located. Over the years of moving we have not been fortunate to reside in areas where Dia de Los Muertos is widely celebrated. Luckily we are currently living in Edinburg, Texas which is located a mere 30 minutes from the border of Mexico. I was overjoyed to find our local museum, The Museum of South Texas History dedicating an entire day to raise awareness for the local youth of a celebration geared toward learning a bit into their heritage.

Fresh Apple Cake
One of the many perks of living temporarily here in Edinburg, Texas is that my grandma lives only 40 minutes away in Brownsville, Texas. I try to visit her once a week, given the opportunity as I feel this is a great way for my girls’ to connect with their great grandma. Visiting her instantly takes me back to my summer’s spent at her house.
