Orange Persimmon Margarita Confession: The plan was to make a salad. This salad. I’m not sure when the salad plan went awry and the juicer came out. Funny how that happens. The outcome was gorgeous. I am simply in love with this shade of orange. Like sunshine in a glass..that you drink…mixed with tequila. This margarita made my week. Gloomy days got a kick of citrus flavor swimming in persimmon sweetness. Enjoy!! Loving Citrus Season? Joy the Baker's Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Chocolate Fudge Brownies I made these brownies twice. And not once did I have the chance to slather them in luscious chocolate butter cream. Brownies go fast in my house. With my two girls, my two nieces, hubby, mom and sister in the kitchen, really did they have a chance. Always the blogger (thinking of the photo I just had to snap) I tried to slice these brownies into pint size pieces. Of course this backfired, because after one bite everyone came back for more and more. Can you blame them? I myself had three (did I just say that out loud?). Anyways , we kick off our cooking… Read More

Zesty Mac and Cheese
Zesty Mac and Cheese I found myself yesterday at the grocery store without a list. This has never happened, quite frankly it freaked me out! I’m a planner, note taker, list jotter and almost a week ahead meal/blog planner. Do the recipes get churned out in the manner planned? No, not always. But the ingredients needed are in place, somewhere in my pantry. The thought of preparing a meal to find I am missing a key component or garnish drives me mad. As a busy mom I don’t have the urge or the luxury to spend everyday, all day at the store. As a blogger I strive for the best possible picture I can capture. So to… Read More
Spicy Chocolate Bark
Spicy Chocolate Bark Add a little spice to your Monday with this easy chocolate bark. From my daughter’s recipe collection Spicy Chocolate Bark. Chocolatl derived from the Nahuatl word “xocolatl” made up from the words “xococ” meaning sour or bitter, and “atl” meaning water or drink. A few lines from her baking curriclum: We recently researched chocolate as part of my baking curriculum and what I learned really changed my outlook on this amazing ingredient. We all know of how chocolate was brought to Europe by the conquistadores. The Aztecs idolized chocolate. Chocolatl derived from the Nahuatl word Xocolatl was served… Read More

And was I ever right. This salsa served with warm tortillas chips hits the spot. Perfect for game day, movie night or your next fiesta. This is what Drick had to say about this salsa: There is this bean dip that has haunted me for years, a taste I remember fairly well as a kid while visiting family in Texas. Served warmed just as many restaurants… Read More
