My mom is in town and I am absorbing every moment with her. We are spending alot of our time in the kitchen, but not focusing on taking pictures or writing down recipes. When I cook with my mom it’s about learning, watching her hands and connecting. We baked together with my daughter (Chuls) and I cannot begin to express the emotion I felt. Summer Fest: Sweet Peach Ancho Chile Sauce

Peaches Peaches Peaches Peaches are the spotlight for this edition of Summer Fest and I couldn’t be happier to share with you my Sweet Peach Ancho Sauce. Peaches simply make life sweeter. Sliced, diced, juiced or stewed peaches is one of many wonderful gifts summer graciously shares with us. Over the holiday weekend I tinkered in my kitchen putting the finishing touches on this sweet, thick sauce. Drizzled warm over vanilla ice cream, served over fish or chilled ready to slather on toast. This sauce offers peaches in two textures fresh and dried. Enhanced with the flavors of Mexico that I crave make for one sensational sauce. Enjoy!

Sipping Saturday Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday weekend with family and friends. In keeping with the 4th of July weekend theme I had planned on mixing together a blueberry margarita. But the peaches won. Every morning as I walked into my kitchen the smell of fresh peaches enveloped my senses. The scent of fresh peaches hands down is one of the best smells of the summer season. My knees weakened as I juiced my peaches to mix with my tequila. A thick layer of salt to rim my glass and I am ready for a relaxing weekend. Enjoy!

Sipping Saturday A bulging bag of ruby jewels arrived home with me on each of 3 trips to the grocery store this week. My intentions for the first bag were to whip up my Saturday Margarita, that didn’t happen. Half -way into the second bag I felt another trip to the grocery store was in my future.
