Summer days spent in Mexico excited my older sister. She loves candy. Candy in all shapes, sizes, flavors and textures. Visions of hot days spent lounging on my grandmother’s porch stuffing her face with candy and cold Mexican sodas gave her a rush. In Mexico she would access to all her favorite candy; tamarindo, dulce de calabaza, dulce de coco, mazapanes or obleas. As we pulled into my grandmother’s drive way she began her plan. Citrus Margarita
Sipping Saturday On Saturday’s I enjoy sipping on a refreshing cocktail. May it be at a local Mexican restaurant with a plate of tacos or with my sister at home settling in to watch a movie. My drink of choice would have to be margaritas. A quality tequila swirled with fresh juice and a salt rimmed glass, perfection. Simply perfect for Saturday. Enjoy! Have a great weekend!

Mango Cajeta Waffle Topping
My little sister sent me this small paragraph in an email four years ago. International Waffle Day March 25 Originated in Sweden where it is called Vaffeldagen. It occurs nine months to the day before Christmas – the day the Archangel Gabriel told the Virgin Mary that she was pregnant. As the holiday progressed, it also began to commemorate the first day of Spring. Waffle come into play because on March 25th the women of Sweden would set aside their winter tasks like chopping wood and knitting and began their spring task…the most notable which was preparing waffles.
