Sipping Saturday A bulging bag of ruby jewels arrived home with me on each of 3 trips to the grocery store this week. My intentions for the first bag were to whip up my Saturday Margarita, that didn’t happen. Half -way into the second bag I felt another trip to the grocery store was in my future. By the third bag […]

Honeydew Margarita
Sipping Saturday What could be more rewarding after a long week of business than to begin the weekend with a cooling margarita. Honeydew is one of the coolest melons. Don’t you think? A lime green pale rind gives way to a juicy pale interior bursting with natural sweetness. Slice, dice or chop any way you serve this melon it is sure […]
Mango Margarita
Sipping Saturday Today’s Margarita is inspired by the mango paletas I made last week. As I peeled my mangos to make the paletas my tiny kitchen swirled with the aroma of a tropical paradise. I knew by Saturday my body, soul and brain would be in need of little tropical getaway. What better way to soothe away a stressful week than with a Mango Margarita? Enjoy!
Watermelon Margarita
Sipping Saturday This Sunday we are off to enjoy the Watermelon Festival in Donna, Texas. I considered entering the seed spitting contest, but I decided to spare my kids the unnecessary embarrassment of watching their mom make a fool out of herself. I think I’ll leave this event to the professionals. In celebration of this event I bring you watermelon margaritas! Enjoy!

Located directly between the fresh fruit and vegetables a stall devoted to agua frescas (fresh water made from fruit) greets me every week. Vitroleros (huge, beehive shaped glass jars) line the stall bursting at the seam with a rainbow of colors that make me weak in the knees. Instantly my tunnel vision sets in […]

Sweet Life
Cantaloupe Margarita
Sipping Saturday I made a tasty fruit salad for my girls on Wednesday. I couldn’t help but save a few slices for a bright melon margarita. The color reminds me of summer weekends spent at the beach with family. With our feet in the hot sand we would snack on cold melon. Have a wonderful weekend! Sweet Life
Strawberry Margarita
Sipping Saturday I set aside a few strawberries from my trip to Poteet, Texas to share with you one of my favorite margaritas. Truthfully I love them all, but you can’t beat the taste of fresh strawberry juice on a hot, humid Texas night! Enjoy! Sweet Life!
Carrot Margarita
Sipping Saturday On Monday I filled 185 plastic easter eggs with goodies. On Tuesday I taped, glued and glittered eggs, bunnies and baskets with my girls. On Wednesday I ran to the store to pick up the perfect shade of purple my daughter just had to have for her Easter basket.
